Brettnach

Brettnach is a commune with 462 inhabitants (as of January 1, 2011 ) in the department of Moselle in the Lorraine region.

Geography

The place is located in the north of Lorraine, four kilometers south-east of Bouzonville and eight kilometers from the German - French border.

History

The village was first mentioned in 971 as Bretenaco. Other spellings denominated Britenacha ( 1179 ), Brithenac ( 1184 ), Bretnache (1715 ) and Brettenach (1801 ).
