Tanzania at the 1996 Summer Olympics

Tanzania participated in the 1996 Summer Olympics in Atlanta for the eighth time in the Olympic Summer Games in part. The team consisted of seven participants, six men and one woman. They started in five competitions in two sports and but were able to win any medal. Youngest participant was the athlete Marko Hhawu with 17 years and 327 days, the oldest was Julius Sumaye, who also competed in athletics, with 31 years and 327 days. During the opening ceremony on 19 July 1996 Ikaji Salum carried the flag of Tanzania in the Olympic Stadium.
