Zambia at the 1996 Summer Olympics

Zambia took at the 1996 Summer Olympics for the eighth time in the Olympic Summer Games in part. The team consisted of eight athletes, seven men and one woman. They started in eight contests in two sports. She won a silver medal, which meant number 61 in the medal of the 1996 Summer Olympics. It was the first Olympic medal for Zambia at all. The youngest participant was the Athlete Godfrey Siamusiye with 23 years and 310 days, the oldest Joseph Chongo was 31 years and 177 days. During the opening ceremony on 19 July 1996, the boxer Davis Mwale carried the Flag of Zambia in the Olympic Stadium.
