Guatemala at the 1996 Summer Olympics

Guatemala took at the 1996 Summer Olympics for the eleventh time in the Olympic Summer Games in part. The team consisted of 26 athletes, 25 men and one woman. They took part in 20 competitions in eleven sports, but were able to win any medal. The youngest participant was Juan Luis Bocanegra at 18 years and 2 days, the oldest was the shooter Francisco Romero Arribas aged 36 years and 216 days. During the opening ceremony on 19 July 1996 the mountaineers Julio René Martínez carried the flag of Guatemala in the Olympic Stadium.
