  • February 1: The premiere of Pandora's Box place before an invited audience in the intimate theater in Nuremberg. The play is by earth spirit, the second part of the tragedy of Frank Wedekind Lulu. An intervention of the police prevented a planned second performance for the following day. On March 29, a unique, complete performance in Munich Schauspielhaus takes place, which is a predominantly negative press coverage. On July 23, the Munich prosecutor brings charges against Wedekind and his publisher Bruno Cassirer for distributing indecent publications.
