2000 Franklin Templeton Tennis Classic

The Franklin Templeton Tennis Classic 2000 was the 13th edition of the hard court tennis tournament in Scottsdale. The tournament was the International Series tournament of the ATP part of the male series. It was, together with the Cerveza Club Columbia Open in Bogotá from 6 to 13 March 2000, instead. The prize money was in each case for single and double tournament $ 350,000. In individual 32 players competed against each other in a double there were 16 pairings. The first eight seeded single player, or the first four seeds received a bye double matings in the second round.

Defending the individual competition was the American Jan- Michael Gambill, who did not compete this year. Instead, the set at position six Australian Lleyton Hewitt has won his third title of the season and the fifth title of his career.

In doubles, won the two unseeded Lokalmatadore Jared Palmer and Reneberg Richey, who thus his title from last year successfully defended. In 1999 he joined but with Justin Gimelstob, who did not compete this year. For Palmer, it was the first title of the year and the 14th of his career, while it should remain in 2000 for Reneberg the only title, but already represented the 22th title of his career. It was the fourth common title of the two doubles players.
