2000 Adidas International

The Adidas International 2000 was the 33rd edition of the hard court tennis tournament in Sydney. The tournament was the International Series tournament of the ATP part of the male series. It was, together with the Heineken Open in Auckland in the second match week of the 2000 season from 10 to 16 January 2000, instead. Both tournament were thus the last preparatory tournaments for the Australian Open, which started on the 17th. The prize money was in each case for single and double tournament $ 325,000. In individual 32 players competed against each other in a double there were 16 pairings.

Defending the individual competition was the American Todd Martin, who retired this year set at three in the second round. Instead, the unseeded Australian Lleyton Hewitt won the second title of the season and the fourth title of his career. In purely Australian finals he defeated Jason Stoltenberg in straight sets.

In doubles, won the set at one local heroes Mark Woodforde and Todd Woodbridge, the thus began the succession of Daniel Nestor and Mark Knowles. It was her third success in Sydney and the second season success of the two Australians. It was Woodfordes 61st and Wood Bridges 41 Double success of career - most of which they reached together.
