2000 Majorca Open
The Mallorca Open 2000 was the 6th edition of the tennis clay court tournament in Mallorca. The tournament was the International Series tournament of the ATP part of the male series. It was, together with the BMW Open in Munich and the U.S. Men 's Clay Court Championships in Orlando from 1 to 7 May 2000. With prize money of $ 475,000 for both single as well as double tournament, it was the most lucrative tournament week. In individual 32 players competed against each other in a double there were 16 pairings.
Defending champion was the Spaniard Juan Carlos Ferrero, who did not compete this year. Instead, won the set at position four Russian Marat Safin, who thus was able to celebrate the second title of the season and third of his career.
In doubles, the two qualifiers Michaël Llodra won from France and Diego Nargiso from Italy. So you came over from Lucas Arnold Ker and Tomás Carbonell. Carbonell this year was indeed set with his partner Piet Norval to one, but failed in the first round. The same happened to Arnold Ker with his new partner Martín García. For Llodra this success was the first of his career, for Nargiso the first of the season and the fifth of his career.
