Berg (Bas-Rhin)

Berg is a commune with 429 inhabitants (as of January 1, 2011 ) in the department of Bas- Rhin in the Alsace region. It belongs to the district Saverne, founded the Canton Drulingen and the 1995 Association of Municipalities Alsace Bossue.

Geography

Just like the neighboring village of Thal is not on the mountain height, but in a Talniederung. Originally, however, the village was at the height. The old church on the Kirchberg plateau, with its highly visible Church, the landmark of the Crooked Alsace, featuring the original location.

Economy and infrastructure

An important source of income is agriculture, focusing on the production of fruits and beverages including apple juice, concentrated. In mountain there are also vineyards where the wine is pressed pomace.
