Diemeringen

Diemeringen is a commune in the Bas -Rhin in the Alsace region. The village belongs to the district Saverne and Canton Drulingen. Diemeringen has 1635 inhabitants (as of January 1, 2011 ) at 8.81 km ² and is a member of the Association of Municipalities Communauté de communes d'Alsace Bossue.

Diemeringen is located in the Northern Vosges Natural Park ( Biosphere Reserve Palatinate Forest -Vosges du Nord ).

History

The rule Diemeringen belonged to the Duchy of Palatinate -Zweibrücken, the lord of the fief Finstringen it. 1421 pledged Heinrich von Finstringen half of the rule (castle, bailey and city Diemeringen Dehlingen, megrim, Voellerdingen and Weyer ) for 4000 florins to Count Philipp I of Nassau -Saarbrücken (around 1368-1429 ).

The dominion was divided (as Count of Salm ) and the county of Moers - Saarwerden at the end of the fifteenth century between the Rhine County through inheritance. Around 1560 through Rheingraf Philipp Franz von Dhaun and Salm- Neufviller -sur -Moselle ( 1518-1561 ) and his son Frederick I of Dhaun and Salm- Neuviller -sur -Moselle ( 1547-1608 ) introduced the Reformation.

During the wars of the seventeenth century, the region was devastated. Between 1671 and 1673 ( 1638-1709 ) were at least twelve women and five men were executed in the church book of sorcery in the reign Diemeringen according to the records of the parish priest Johann Andreas Keifflin, a woman accused died in prison.

In the eighteenth century was the rule between the Principality of Salm- Salm, the wild and Rhinegraves to Dhaun - Grumbach to Dhaun - Kyrburg and divided by stone.

1793 Diemeringen, which had until then formed an exclave of the Holy Roman Empire, part of the French Republic.
