Hinsingen

Hinsingen is a commune with 83 inhabitants (as of January 1, 2011 ) in the department of Bas- Rhin in the Alsace region. She is a member of the community of interest Communauté de communes du Pays de Sarre- Union.

History

The town was first mentioned in 1328 as Heyngesingen, was located in the county Saarwerden and arrived in the 15th century by inheritance into the possession of the Counts of Nassau- Saarbrücken. The town and the castle were originally situated in a hollow, but the present town was rebuilt after destruction in the Thirty Years' War and prolonged devastation in the late 17th century at the height of the hill.
