Bremgarten bei Bern is a municipality in the Bern-Mittelland administrative district in the canton of Bern.

Geography

Bremgarten is located approximately 4 km north of the Swiss capital Bern, with which they share a common border. It lies on the sloping against the Aare last foothills of the Frienisbergplateaus. Opposite the city of Bern in the south the Aare forms a natural border. In the west and north borders the community to Kirchlindachstrasse, to the east by Zollikofen.

History

The older history of Bremgarten begins around the year 1000: at that time was on the peninsula, a wooden castle, probably a little later, a small Romanesque church.
