Cambria County, Pennsylvania

Cambria County is a county located in the U.S. state of Pennsylvania in the United States. In the 2000 census, the county had 152 598 inhabitants and a population density of 86 inhabitants per square kilometer. The administrative headquarters ( County Seat) is Ebensburg.

History

Historical buildings

In Portage Township, Oil City is the historic Bridge, built in 1832 in Portage Township. The railway bridge was taken with the number 88000782 on 22 June 1988 by the National Register of Historic Places.

Geography

The county has an area of 1,796 square kilometers, of which 14 square kilometers are water surface. It lies on the western side of the Allegheny Mountains, and thus in the catchment area of the Mississippi River.
