Susquehanna County, Pennsylvania

Susquehanna County is a county located in the U.S. state of Pennsylvania. In the 2000 census, the county had 42 238 inhabitants and a population density of 20 inhabitants per square kilometer. The administrative headquarters ( County Seat) is Montrose.

History

The County was formed on February 21, 1810 Luzerne County and named for the Susquehanna River.

Geography

The county has an area of ​​2,156 square kilometers, of which 25 square kilometers are water surface. About 60 percent of the area is forested.
