Clavesana

Clavesanas ( Piedmontese Cravsan -a) is a municipality with 877 inhabitants (as at 31 December 2012) in the Italian province of Cuneo (CN ), Region Piedmont.

The municipality consists of the villages of Madonna delle Neve, Ghigliani, Sbaranzo, Surie, Costa Pra, Feia, Prato del Pozzo, Cravili, Ansaldi, Villero, Gorea, Chiecchi, San Pietro, San Bartolomeo, Gai, Gerino and Tatty. The neighboring municipalities are Bastia Mondovi, Belvedere Langhe, Carrų, Cigliè, Farigliano, Marsaglia, Murazzano and Rocca Cigliè.

Geography

The village lies at an altitude of 265 to 605 m above sea level. The municipality covers an area of 17.5 km ².

Specialities

In Clavesanas vines for the Dolcetto di Dogliani, a red wine are grown with DOC status. The berries of the grape varieties Pinot Noir and / or Chardonnay may be processed for sparkling wine Alta Langa.
