Frémontiers

Frémontiers ( Picard: Frémontyi ) is a northern French village with 148 inhabitants (as of 1 January 2011) in the department of Somme in the Picardie region. The municipality is located in the arrondissement of Amiens, is part of the Communauté de communes du canton de Conty, in the canton Conty.

Geography

The municipality with the westerly district Uzenneville located at the junction of the roads department D920 (formerly Route nationale 320) and D138, about six kilometers east of Poix- de -Picardie in the Valley of Évoissons.

History

In Frémontiers stood a monastery, still remembers the suffix montiers in the community name to the, and two locks. Of these, only traces have been preserved. In the Franco-German war the place was 1870/71 occupied by German troops.
