Heinrich Burger

Heinrich Burger ( born May 31, 1881 in Munich, † April 27, 1942 ) was a German figure skater, who started in a single run and pair skating.

He started for the Munich EV, for which he sometimes took in speed skating competitions. By profession, Burger was a lawyer.

His greatest success as Burger pair skater with Anna Hubler. At the Olympic Games in London in 1908 the couple's first time in the Olympic program located compete in figure skating for pairs won. In the same year burgers and Hubler were also the first pair skating world champion in history, winning the world title again 1910. European Championships for couples were not introduced until 1930.

Burger was also successful as a single runner. In the years 1904-1907 he won three German league titles and was a two-time runner-up in 1904 after Ulrich Salchow and 1906 behind his fellow countryman Gilbert Fuchs.
