Hemsbünde

Hemsbünde is a member municipality of the velvet municipality Bothel in the district of Rotenburg (Wümme ) in Lower Saxony.

Geography

Community structure

To the community includes the hamlets of tension Kamp, Hassel, Hastedt and Worth. Together with the nucleus Hemsbünde these villages are often referred to as water villages. This term is derived from the multiple flooding the Rodau and Wiedau.

History

Since 1971 the municipality Hemsbünde belongs to the newly founded Samtgemeinde Bothel.

Incorporations

On March 1, 1974, the municipalities Hassel and Hastedt were incorporated to Hemsbünde.

Economy

The community is home to two large woodworking operations. While agriculture has lost more and more importance in the past few years, today, tourism has gained a slight significance for Hemsbünde. A commercial area has developed on the main road.
