Honda VFR 750 R

The Honda VFR 750 R is a sports motorcycle of the Japanese car manufacturer Honda, which was produced from 1987 to 1992 in Hamamatsu.

History

The Honda VFR 750 R with the factory code RC30 arose from the Honda VFR 750 F and was one of the first developed specifically for the racing series motorcycles. This was reflected both in the selected materials (eg, titanium connecting rods ), as well as the price: At the launch in 1988, it was about twice as expensive as most other bikes of the vintage.

By 1990 the factory of Hamamatsu about 3000 were individually produced by a special team. Most were on the track for use, 20 years later, only about 25 % of them were obtained.

Due to their reliability, Honda won so immediately the Superbike World Championship and dominated for years the race for the Tourist Trophy on the Isle of Man.

Technology

Motor

The four overhead camshafts were driven by two gear cascade with four gears. The roller-mounted camshaft opened the valves, their stems had only 4.5 millimeters in diameter bucket tappets.
