Inzing

Inzing is a municipality with 3603 inhabitants (as of 1 January 2013 ) in the district of Innsbruck Land in Tirol ( Austria ). The municipality is a member of the Climate Alliance of Tyrol and is located in the judicial district Telfs.

Geography

Inzing in the Inn Valley between Innsbruck and Zirl the east and Telfs or Hatting in the West. It is located on the south bank of the Inn. South of the village stands the Ranggerköpfl Mountain up to the north of Zirler mountain. The highest point of the municipality is located on the summit of Peiderspitze to 2808 meters above sea level. A. in the northern Sellrainer Bergen ( Stubai Alps). Neighboring communities

History

Inzing was first documented in 1034 in the traditions of the Bishopric of Freising: ... but not secured quicquid proprietatis in loco Inigozingo curifera III .. It is that there is in fact Inzing at this mention. According to a historical development of Inigozingo to Inzing would be unlikely. The first truly secure naming is found in the charter of the abbey of St. George mountain with Incingenim year 1283rd

The baroque parish church has to have late Baroque frescoes.

Early on, built by the Knights of Eben ( district ) - the exact date is unknown - in the village above the church, a tower, which the Inzinger now commonly call " Schlößl ". This late Gothic " Schlößl " was rebuilt around 1920 in the style of historicism. The coat of arms of the Knights of motives plane can still be found in the arms of the municipality Inzing again.

Inzing was also mentioned in the Italian travel by Johann Wolfgang von Goethe ( 1786). The municipality was created in 1974 Hatting Inzing connected and separated again in 1993 as a separate municipality.

Inzing was plagued in the past by several large debris flows. At the last in 1969, three people were killed.

Culture and sights

In the sports of volleyball, wrestling and billiards Inzing is represented nationally. The section inzingvolley the SU plays in the second Austrian Bundesliga ladies. The ring - Sport-Club Inzing ( RSCI ) fights in the first Austrian league.

In addition Inzing has a natural toboggan run ( Ginzes - level ) and hosted the natural track luge World Cup 1979.

Traffic

Default traffic Inzing is connected through the Inn valley motorway at exit Zirl -West and on the Arlberg railway with a station on the line S1 / S2 to the S -Bahn Tyrol. Trains run at 30- minute intervals via Innsbruck to Fritz -Wattens or until Telfs. Further upside in the winter months, a ski bus to the nearby ski Ranggerköpfl Mountain.
