Kriechenwil

Kriechenwil ( officially until 1959 called Dicki ) is a municipality in the Bern-Mittelland administrative district in the canton of Bern in Switzerland.

Geography

Kriechenwil Located in the Swiss Plateau, close to the Sarine. The municipality comprises the towns of Kriechenwil, Riesenau and Schönenbüel. The neighboring communities of north clockwise are starting Ferenbalm, the Canton Fribourg enclave Wallenbuch ( Gde Gurmels ), Laupen, Boesingen, Kleinbösingen, Gurmels and Ulmiz.

The voter shares of the parties at the national elections of 2011 were: SVP 32.9 %, BDP 23.8 %, SP 12.7 %, FDP 8.1 %, glp 6.5 %, EDU 5.6 %, GPS 4.1 %, SD 1.3 %, Alps Parliament 1.1 %, CVP 1.0 %, EPP 0.8 %.

History

The first written record of the village, which officially Dicki was called until 1959, was made in 1353 under the name Digki.

In the past, the gallows of the district court Zolligkofen was in Kriechenwil. Even today, you see the forest two foundations of the gallows.
