Oberhofen im Inntal

Oberhofen is a municipality with 1685 inhabitants (as of 1 January 2013 ) in the district of Innsbruck Land in Tirol ( Austria ). The municipality is located in the judicial district Telfs.

Geography

Oberhofen in the Inn Valley, on the southern side of the valley, near Telfs. The highest point is the 2884 m high Rietzer Grieskogel. From the village of Pfaffenhof it broke up in 1786.

Oberhofen managed to retain its village character. Sexy to look at the houses lined up along the old now silted shore edge of the Inn on the northern edge of the town center in particular. Located in the Telfer basin is Oberhofen a location for medium-sized companies with good infrastructure.

Culture and sights

  • Parish Church of St. Nicholas: This was built in the years 1740-42 by the architect Inzinger Gallus Gratl.

Transport links

On the road, the town on the Inn valley motorway ( A 12) with the Telfs- West exit is reached.

Per Railway Oberhofen can be reached in the Inn Valley over the station Telfs- Oberpfaffenhofen the Arlberg railway. Since June 13, 2005 Oberhofen also has its own stop on the regional traffic. National Rail at 30- minute intervals alternating high-speed railway trains, the S -Bahn lines S1 and S2 Tyrol.

Tourism

Oberhofen offers a variety of hiking trails and a good walk far more than 20 kilometers wide asphalted roads, which ( the longest bike trail in Tyrol) is complemented by the Inn cycle path. Similarly, the world-famous St. James performs Oberhofen.

Special attractions include the cultivated from mid-June to late September Galtalm ( 1614 meters ) and the cultivated from early June to mid-October Melkalm ( 1694 meters). The latter especially enjoys great reputation among mountain bikers.

Clubs

Oberhofen has an active club life. Many citizens are engaged in the local theater group, the rural youth, the church choir, the volunteer fire department, the band, and in many other clubs.
