Plaine-de-Walsch
Plaine -de- Walsch ( German Hochwalsch, 1940-44 Plinterwald ) is a commune of 625 inhabitants (as of January 1, 2011 ) in the department of Moselle in the Lorraine region. It belongs to the district Sarrebourg and Canton Sarrebourg.
Geography
Plaine -de- Walsch is located seven kilometers south-east of Sarrebourg on the edge of the Vosges Mountains at an altitude 238-414 m above sea level. The municipality covers 4.98 km ².
History
The town was founded in 1707 by the Baron of Lutzelbourg as Plaine de Valche ( level of Walscheid ). In 1751 he was mentioned as a blind washing and 1772 Blindenwalsch. The municipality Plaine -de- Walsch also includes the easternmost hamlet Rehthal.
