Rantzwiller

Rantzwiller ( German: Rantsweiler ) is a commune with 811 inhabitants (as of January 1, 2011 ) in the department of Haut-Rhin in the Alsace region. It belongs to the district Mulhouse, on the Canton Sierentz and community association Pays de Sierentz.

History

Rantzwiller belonged at the time of the reign of Upper soldiers and formed with Geispitzen, Kœtzingue, Magstatt -le-Haut and Waltenheim a greater community. The old St. George's Church is mentioned in the 13th century.

Church of St. George

Instead of the present church of St. George, which was built from 1854 to 1858, was a predecessor with three-storey tower and gable roof from the 13th century.
