Rolf Gölz

Rolf Golz ( born September 30, 1962 in Bad shot Ried ) is a retired German racing cyclist.

Life

Growing up is Goelz in Bad shot Ried in Upper Swabia. He won in his amateur time 1983 World Cup with the German train of four and won in 1984 in Los Angeles, a silver and a bronze medal in the 4000 meters One or Team Pursuit. Due to its powerful driving Goelz was named by many colleagues "Turbo".

In his pro from 1985 to 1993, he was one of the few German road riders with international importance. Goelz it specializes mainly on classical one-day races. His first major international success was winning the Zuri pig roast 1987.
