Seal of North Dakota

The seal of the U.S. state of North Dakota was adopted in 1889 as the official seal.

Description

In the middle of the seal a tree surrounded by three bundles of wheat is shown in an open field.

Right of the tree are a plow, to see an anvil and sledge. On the left side of the seal shows a bison -hunting Indians and bow and arrow.

42 stars and a slogan are arranged in a semicircle above the tree.

The motto is taken from Daniel Webster and reads:

" Liberty and Union Now and Forever, One and Inseparable "

The outer ring of the date of accession to the Union, October 1, 1889, and the Great Seal and State of North Dakota shall be read.

The appearance of the seal has changed slightly over time and over again.
