Troisfontaines

Trois Fontaines ( German Three Fountains ) is a commune with 1308 inhabitants (as of January 1, 2011 ) in the department of Moselle in the Lorraine region. It belongs to the district Sarrebourg, for Canton Sarrebourg and founded in 1997, community association Vallée de la Bièvre.

Geography

Trois Fontaines is located in the Valley of Bièvre in the foothills of the Northern Vosges, about nine kilometers southeast of Sarrebourg.

At Trois Fontaines include the districts

  • Vallérysthal ( Vallerysthal ) in the Northeast, which is known for its glassworks,
  • Beaver church in the southwest and the hamlet
  • Freywald ( Freiwald ) in the southeast of the community.

Neighboring communities of Trois Fontaines are Brouderdorff and Plaine -de- Walsch in the north, Hommert in the east, in the southeast Walscheid, Abreschviller in the south, Voyer in the southwest and Hartzviller in the northwest.

History

The village belonged from 1661 to France, from 1871 to 1919 and during the Second World War was under the German administration.

In the district was Vallérysthal 1830-1840 one of the first watch glass factories in Europe.
