Winston-Salem IceHawks

The Winston -Salem IceHawks were an American ice hockey team from Winston- Salem, North Carolina. The team played from 1997 to 1999 in the United Hockey League.

History

The franchise of the Utica Blizzard of the United Hockey League was founded in 1997 from Utica, New York, to Winston -Salem, North Carolina, relocated and renamed Winston -Salem IceHawks. Your premiere season ended the team to fourth place in the East Division and missed the playoffs. This they achieved after the third place in the Eastern Division in season 1998/99 for the first and only time, but retired in the first round with 1:4 victories in the best- of-seven series against the eventual champion Muskegon Fury from.

Following the 1998/99 season the franchise to Glens Falls, New York, was relocated, where it subsequently participated under the name Adirondack IceHawks the game operation of the UHL. In Glens Falls, they replace the Adirondack Red Wings of the American Hockey League, which had been dissolved in the same year.
