Marainville-sur-Madon
Marainville -sur -Madon is a commune in the Vosges department in the Lorraine region. It belongs to the district of the canton of Epinal and charm.

Geography
The 82 inhabitants (as of 1 January 2011) scoring community Marainville -sur -Madon is located about 30 kilometers south of Nancy and 35 kilometers north- west of Epinal, on the border with the department of Meurthe -et -Moselle. The nearest towns are Mirecourt and charm in each twelve miles away.
Marainville is located on the left bank of the Moselle tributary Madon, which forms the eastern boundary of the municipality. Coming north of the village center leads the Ruisseau le Beaulong, from the west to the Saintois, in the meandering Madon and interrupts the otherwise the river bed by 50 to 100 meters towering slopes on the left Madonufer. In the south of the municipality is a shore slope is forested with a length of 1500 meters, mostly, there is a 4.88 km ² large municipality area of fields and meadows.
Neighboring communities of Marainville -sur -Madon are Jevoncourt in the north, Bralleville in the northeast, Battexey in the east, Xaronval and Pont -sur -Madon in the south and Diarville in the West.
History
Near Marainville -sur -Madon were discovered in 1977 grave mound. They found the remains of a chariot in which a dignitary was buried. Among the grave goods included a sword with an iron blade and an amber ornate ivory knob, further harness and a bronze cup. The finds were dated to the sixth century BC, showing the extensive trade relations of the Lorraine region with Baltic and Mediterranean at that time.

Economy and infrastructure
Marainville -sur -Madon is a typical farming village. Thus, in place six farms located ( as of 2002), who grow especially grain, feed and operate livestock.

The Gripport connecting the motorway-like National Highway 57 (Metz -Nancy- Epinal ) is located seven kilometers northeast Marainvilles. The nearest train station is three kilometers away in the community Diarville on the railway line Nancy Dijon.
