Thaon-les-Vosges
Thaon- les -Vosges is a commune in the department of Vosges in the Lorraine region. It belongs to the district Epinal, in the canton of Châtel- sur -Moselle and the community association Agglomà d' Epinal.
Geography
Part of the industrial community on the Moselle, with 7948 inhabitants ( 1 January 2011) of the ten largest in the Territory, more than twelve kilometers north of Epinal, capital of the department and can be reached from there via the National Road 57.
Neighboring communities of Thaon- les -Vosges are Igney and Vaxoncourt in the north, Girmont in the east, Chavelot in the south, Domèvre -sur- Avière in the southwest and Oncourt in the West.
History
The first documentary mention of the place comes from the year 1003.
