Harol

Harol is a commune with 587 inhabitants (as of January 1, 2011 ) in the department of Vosges in the Lorraine region. It belongs to the district Epinal, to Canton Dompaire and the Local Government Association ( Communauté de communes ) Secteur de Dompaire.

Geography

The community Harol is on the gently rolling plateau of Voge, about 20 kilometers west of Epinal in the south of Lorraine. A special feature is the watershed of the North Sea -Mediterranean, which runs right through the 27.34 km ² comprehensive municipal area. Harol consists of several villages and hamlets. History

The village Harol was first mentioned in 1070 as Haros. It was later the center of the extended ban Harol ( Ban d' Harol ). Although the area was in the area of ​​influence of the diocese of Toul, but was proven since 1235 by the Chapter in Remiremont dependent.
