Vincey

Vincey is a commune in the Vosges department of the Lorraine region. It belongs to the district of the canton of Epinal and charm.

Geography

The 2255 inhabitants (1 January 2011 ) scoring Vincey community located in the Moselle valley to the north of the Vosges département, about 20 kilometers north- west of Epinal.

The Moselle flows into southeast-northwest direction through the municipal area of ​​the neighboring community Portieux. A section of the left parallel to the Moselle Canal des Vosges partially forms the eastern boundary of the municipality of Vincey. History

The place first appears in the year 1003 Vincei in a deed of the chapter on Epinal. Vincey was part of the Bailiwick of charm, ecclesiastically the village belonged equally from Jorxey Deanery of the Diocese of Saint -Dié and the abbesses in Epinal.
