Vincey
Vincey is a commune in the Vosges department of the Lorraine region. It belongs to the district of the canton of Epinal and charm.
Geography
The 2255 inhabitants (1 January 2011 ) scoring Vincey community located in the Moselle valley to the north of the Vosges département, about 20 kilometers north- west of Epinal.
The Moselle flows into southeast-northwest direction through the municipal area of the neighboring community Portieux. A section of the left parallel to the Moselle Canal des Vosges partially forms the eastern boundary of the municipality of Vincey. The train stop on the railway line Vincey Nancy- Epinal - Remiremont is also located in the area of Portieux.
The southern half of the 12.81 km ² large municipality area is covered by forest.
Neighboring communities of Vincey are Essegney and Langley in the north, Portieux in the east, in the southeast Nomexy, Frizon in the south, Bettegney -Saint -Brice in the southwest, Évaux -et- Menil and Ubexy in the west and Brantigny in the northwest.
History
The place first appears in the year 1003 Vincei in a deed of the chapter on Epinal. Vincey was part of the Bailiwick of charm, ecclesiastically the village belonged equally from Jorxey Deanery of the Diocese of Saint -Dié and the abbesses in Epinal.
Coat of arms
The coat of arms shows a cabbage, which refers to a long tradition of cabbage cultivation to Vincey. The three factories symbolize the former industrial site with the electricity industry, metallurgy and cotton processing. The houses with church standing for the rural character that has retained Vincey.

Economy and infrastructure
After the decline of the textile industry in Vincey today many commuters in the community who are employed in the nearby industrial areas in the Mosel valley. Vincey is home to two kindergartens and two primary schools.
In Vincey the department streets 36a ( Varmonzey - Portieux ) and 157 ( Igney - Socourt ) intersect. The two-lane national highway 57 from Nancy to Epinal leads to a junction west past Vincey. The breakpoint Vincey is located on the Moselle valley, following the railway line Nancy- Epinal - Remiremont, which is operated by the Company TER Lorraine.
