Langley (Vosges)
Langley is a commune in the Vosges department in the Lorraine region. It belongs to the district of the canton of Epinal and charm.
Geography
The 194 inhabitants (1 January 2011 ) scoring Langley municipality lies on the Moselle, about 25 kilometers north- west of Epinal.
The Moselle flows into southeast-northwest direction through the municipal area, the nucleus Langley is on the right side of the Moselle. In the far west the municipality touch the running parallel to the Moselle Canal des Vosges. At Langley also has a about a 50 hectares area left of the Mosel, which consists largely of a commercial area (including transformer stations of the company EDF ). The commercial area is accessible from the village of Langley from just across the Mosel bridges of the places charm and Portieux. In Langley is a railway bridge over the Mosel: the only one on the nearly 100 -kilometer railway line from Nancy about Epinal Remiremont.
About 70 acres, or just under a quarter of the community area consists of forest ( Forêt de Ternes ).
Neighboring communities of Langley are Essegney in the northwest and north, Damas -aux -Bois in the northeast and east, Portieux in the southeast and south and Vincey in the southwest.
History
The village of Langley was from 1594 until the French Revolution to the Bailiwick of Châtel, from 1711 Langley was also dependent on the parish Vincey. Ecclesiastical belonged to the village, which until now has no church, to the Deanery of the Diocese of Toul Jorxey. The church books were in neighboring Essegney.
The mayor and school building was built in 1877.
