Le Roulier
Le Roulier is a commune of 200 inhabitants (as of January 1, 2011 ) in the department of Vosges of Lorraine region. It belongs to the district Epinal, founded the canton of Bruyeres and to the 2002 Local Government Association Vallée de la Vologne.

Geography
The Municipality of Le Roulier located in the Vosges Mountains at an altitude of 430 m above sea level, 13 kilometers east of Epinal.
The area of 5.67 km ² municipal area extends from Volognetal the south across a tributary to the 560 m reach heights of Haut du Mont in the north. The northern half of the municipal area is from about 480 m above sea level forested ( Bois Noir ).
The settlement pattern is scattered and grouped around the village core, which is formed by the triangle of streets Rue des Vieux Champs, Rue de la Fougne and Rue de la Mairie. To the settlement areas extending arable, at higher altitudes predominantly pasture.
Neighboring communities of Le Roulier are Méménil north, Deycimont in the east, Docelles in the south, Charmois -devant- Bruyeres in the west and Aydoilles and Fontenay in the northwest.
History
The place name may be derived from "place à rouir " ( Röstplatz of fiber crops such as flax or hemp); a " Rouillier " had the legal right to rotting in standing water, which were created next to streams, to let them flow out again after the end of the process.
The Municipality of Le Roulier in 1830 formed by detachment from the community Charmois -devant- Bruyeres.

Economy and infrastructure
In the town are three farms prime- resident ( grain farming, dairy farming ), in addition there is a bakery. Some residents of Le Roulier commute to the nearby industrial areas of Vologne and Mosel.
The municipality has no church. Pastoral care takes over the church of Sainte -Gertrude in the neighboring municipality Charmois -devant- Bruyeres.
In Le Roulier there is a multi-purpose hall for 120 people, a library, a basketball and a petanque court.
Transport links
Le Roulier is off the national traffic flows. The neighboring municipality Docelles is connected to the road department 11/417 of Remiremont about Gerardmer in Colmar. The nearest railway station is three kilometers away at the community Docelles operated by TER Lorraine railway line Arches Saint- Dié.
