Xamontarupt
Xamontarupt is a commune of 151 inhabitants (as of January 1, 2011 ) in the department of Vosges of Lorraine region. It belongs to the district Epinal. to Canton Bruyeres and founded in 2002 Local Government Association Vallée de la Vologne.

Geography
The community is located between Epinal and Gerardmer Xamontarupt in the western foothills of the Vosges.
The territory of Xamontarupt includes the lower part of the Ruisseau de la Cuve to its confluence with the Vologne Creek Barba and up to 671 meters above sea level reaching ridge west and east of Cuvetales. In the area of Barbatales in the north about 40 ha are used for agriculture, particularly for fodder production and for grazing. The mountain slopes are almost entirely covered by forests ( Forêt de Fossard ) so that the proportion of forest in the municipal area is about 70%.
Neighboring communities of Xamontarupt are Faucompierre in the north, Tendon in the east and south, and Eloyes Jarménil in the southwest and Cheniménil and Docelles in the West.
History
1656 Xamontarupt was first mentioned in documents as Charmontaruz.
On September 9, 1944, in the area Xamontarupt a bitter battle between the Allies and the Germans - 14 days before the liberation of the area by the Americans.

The population of the municipality Xamontarupt is at a constant level since the early 1990s.
Attractions
Above the village is the site of a holly, which, with over 400 years of the oldest plants of this species. For hunters and anglers, the area around Xamontarupt for his game and fish abundance is known.
Economy and infrastructure
In Xamontarupt three farms are established, operate mainly cattle and sheep.
