Renauvoid

Renauvoid is a commune with 120 inhabitants (as of January 1, 2011 ) in the department of Vosges in Lorraine. It belongs to the district Epinal, Epinal to Canton -Ouest and since 2012 the Local Government Association AgglomÃ d' Epinal

Geography

The municipality is located six kilometers south-west of Renauvoid Epinal. The municipality is located in northeastern Voge - plateau which separates the basins of the Rhine and Rhône each other and forms the main European watershed.

In Renauvoid spring the direct Mosel tributaries Ruisseau d' Olima, Ruisseau de Bertamenil and the 28 km long Avière and the Ruisseau des Colnots which drains through the Ruisseau des Sept Pecheurs and the Coney Saône. In the northwest Renauvoid has an approximately seven -acre share of the reservoir Bouzey, which was created to summit level of the Canal des Vosges and today is considered a major recreational area of the nearby town of Epinal.

History

Due to the structure of the scattered farms and hamlets without growing village center there are few historical records of Renauvoid. The territory of the municipality belonged to the time of the founding of the Abbey Deuilly in 1044 to spell Girandi Curtis, the next Renauvoid (earlier spelling Renaufief ) also places the Void -de- Girancourt, Audoncourt, Barbonfaing, Dommartin- aux- Bois, Hagémont, Méloménil, Nayemont, Thiélouze and Uzemain included and its center was located in what is now Girancourt.

On July 29, 1944, a Lancaster bomber of the Royal Air Force crashed on the way to Stuttgart with seven soldiers from the United Kingdom, Canada and New Zealand, close Renauvoid. Six crew members are in the military cemetery in Chaumousey, a New Zealand soldier survived. At the crash site in the Forêt d' Avière a monument was erected in 2002.

The forest located at the reservoir Bouzey and proximity to the department capital Epinal moved in the last 20 years, as more urbanites after Renauvoid.

Economy and infrastructure

In the community there are outside the agriculture and forestry no employment opportunities, so Renauvoid is mainly residence of commuters in the nearby city of Epinal and the northern neighboring communities.

In Renauvoid there is no church. For the pastoral care of the church of Saint- Gory in Epinal is responsible.

Epinal is about the department of Highway 51 in the north-east attainable, to the southwest takes her to Uzemain. About the neighboring community Sanchey is following the road department 460 of Epinal by Darney.
