La Chapelle-aux-Bois

Geography
The 30 km ² large municipality of the town of La Chapelle- aux- Bois is on average 430 meters above sea level and extends to the high plateau of Voge, which is interrupted by the valleys of the small Coney tributaries Ruisseau de Bagnerot and Ruisseau Jeandin. The rivers belong to the Saône / Rhône catchment. The landscape in the municipal area is dominated by arable and meadow areas in the south and east are contiguous forests. The Canal des Vosges forms the northwestern boundary of the parish.
At La Chapelle- aux- Bois include the districts Fieuzé, Gremifontaine, Hardémont, Haudompré, La Forêt and Les Grands Prés.
Neighboring communities of La Chapelle- aux- Bois are Xertigny the north and west, Le Clerjus in the south, Bains- les- Bains in the southwest, Les Voivres in the west and Harsault in the northwest.
History
The nucleus of today's church was a chapel from the 14th century, was built between the hamlets Hardémont, Haudompré and Grémifontaine.
