1977–78 Soviet League season

The 1977/ 78 of Wysschaja League season was the 32nd season of the highest Soviet Hockey League. The Soviet league title secured for a total of 21 times CSKA Moscow.

Mode

The ten teams in the league played Wysschaja in a common main round four times against any opponent, bringing the total number of matches per team was 36. The point- best team became champion, during the last table had to play in the relegation against the third party of the second division. For a win, each team was given two points, a draw there was a point and a defeat.
