1984–85 Soviet League season
The 1984/85 season the league Wysschaja was the 39th season of the highest Soviet Hockey League. The Soviet league title secured for a total of 28 times CSKA Moscow, while Awtomobilist Sverdlovsk relegation to the second division.
Mode
The twelve teams in the league Wysschaja first played in a common main round in return game against any opponent, bringing the total number of matches per team was 22.
In the second season phase, the eight best teams in the Main Round played again in return game against each other, the results of the main draws were taken. The three best teams in the second round qualified for the final round, in which they competed in return game, where, again, the results so far have been applied. The point- best team in the final round was finally champions. The teams that were in the second round in the squares Four to Eight, met in a placement round for fourth place in four games for each opponent. The previous results have also been incorporated.
The four last placed the main round clashed in a relegation round and, in addition, the results from the main round were taken on the four best second division, where they completed another 28 games and was separated from the rating the promotion round the evaluation of the relegation round. The Last of the relegation round eventually rose directly from the second division. For a win, each team was given two points, a draw there was a point and a defeat.
