1972–73 Soviet League season
The 1972/73 season the Wysschaja League was the 27th season of the highest Soviet Hockey League. The Soviet league title secured for a total of 18 times CSKA Moscow, while Awtomobilist Sverdlovsk relegation to the second division.
Mode
The nine teams in the league played Wysschaja in a common main round four times against any opponent, bringing the total number of games per team was 32 . The point- best team became champion, while the table last descent directly to the second division. The Penultimate Wysschaja the league had to play in the relegation to the Second of the second division. For a win, each team was given two points, a draw there was a point and a defeat.
