2010 European Women's Handball Championship

The 9th European Handball Championship of Women was held from 7 to 19 December 2010 in Denmark and Norway. This was held for the first time a European Championship by two countries. Became European Champion for the fourth time in a row Norway, the silver medal went to Sweden to win bronze Romania.

Qualification

The qualifying matches for the 2010 European Championships began in October 2009, 29 teams took part. The games were played according to the EHF at the 9th Congress on January 26, adopted in 2008 in Lillehammer and the first time in qualifying for the European Handball Championship 2010 Men's applied reformed system.

To the last free place in the qualifier played in September 2009, the teams of Finland and the UK ( 14:17, 23:24 ). The draw brought the next group allocation. The top two teams in each group were qualified for the European Championship.

Preliminary round

Within the four preliminary round groups, the teams played each one game against all other group members. For the main round, the three best group of four preliminary groups, ie twelve teams qualified.
