Bernardvillé

Bernardvillé (German Bernhard Weiler, els. Batsch Willer ( in the hole ) ) is a commune of 218 inhabitants (as of January 1, 2011 ) in the department of Bas- Rhin in the Alsace region. The community is a member of the Communauté de communes du Bernstein et de l' Unger stone.

The village lies at an obtuse side valley of the Northern Vosges Mountains and is mostly surrounded by forest and vineyards. The houses are almost all built along a side street, which opens to the southeast in the department of road D 253. In addition to small businesses, there are also farms that grow crops and viticulture.

About a kilometer south of the town is the former Cistercian monastery of Baumgarten, which is used by Trappist nuns since the end of 2009.
