Kurt Hamrin

Kurt Hamrin ( born November 19, 1934 in Stockholm ) is a former Swedish football and hockey players.

Career

In the club

Hamrin was not the only Scandinavians, who played in the summer of football and in the winter ice hockey - but he was one of the few who brought it in both sports for the national team, "Coo ," according to his Swedish nickname, finally decided despite two ice hockey matches for the lawn sport and in 1952 second division champions and promoted with AIK.

Starting in 1956, the Right Wing walked in the footsteps of his compatriots Gunnar Gren, Gunnar Nordahl and Nils Liedholm and became professional in Italy. There was Kurre from the bird (Italian l' uccellino ). In Serie A, he celebrated especially with Fiorentina and AC Milan most of his success: he was champion, twice Cup winners, won the Mitropa Cup as well as the European cups of Champions and Cup Winners' Cup. In addition, he also played at Juventus, AC Padova and Napoli AS. In the all-time scorers list of the highest Italian league Hamrin ranked seventh. In 1972 he returned briefly ( IFK Stockholm ) to Sweden, but now lives in Florence. In 2011 he received as part of the Fotbollsgalan from the hand of the reigning UEFA President Michel Platini, the honorary prize.

In the National Team

Because of the professional time in Italy Kurt Hamrin was 1953-1965 only 32 inserts for Sweden, but there also scored 16 goals. At the World Cup 1958 he was one of the best Swedish players and was runner-up. He scored a crucial goal against the Federal Republic of Germany in the semifinals; for parts of the German public, however, he was more the " bogeyman " of the dismissal of Erich Juskowiak provoked in this game and thereby the defeat of Germany was to blame.
