Ingvar Rydell

Ingvar Rydell ( born May 7, 1922 in bakeries, † June 20, 2013 in Höllviken ) was a Swedish national football team.

Career

Rydell first played at Billingsfors IK with which he ascended into the Allsvenskan 1946. However, the club rose just three points directly back from what today is the worst record in the Swedish football. Rydell then moved to Malmö FF. 1949 to 1951 he won with the club three times in a row, the Swedish Championship, where the team with 49 games without defeat, between May 1949 and June 1951 a record aufstellte. 1950 Rydell was top scorer in the league with 22 goals this season. In 210 games for the MFF, the center forward scored 162 goals. Along with teammate Erik Nilsson, he finished his career in 1953.

Rydell played 14 internationals for Sweden. At the World Cup 1950 he formed with eight other players from Malmö FF the largest block in the selection. However, he himself could not pass Hasse Jeppson and thus only played in the final group game of the finals against Spain. With their 3-1 win third place was achieved. Two years later he was at the Olympic Games in Helsinki to the team that defeated the German amateur national team in the match for third place with 2-0 and thus won bronze.
