La Chaussée-Tirancourt

La Chaussée- Tirancourt ( Picard: L' Cœuchie - Tinincourt ) is a northern French village with 660 inhabitants (as of January 1, 2011 ) by the Somme in the Picardie region. The municipality is located in the arrondissement of Amiens, is part of the Communauté de communes de l' Ouest d' Amiens, in the canton Picquigny.

Geography

La Chaussée- Tirancourt between Belloy- sur -Somme and Saint- Sauveur (Somme ) on the right ( northern ) bank of the Somme, whose valley is interspersed with ponds, across from Picquigny, at the department of road D1235 ( former Route nationale 35) of of the department D49 road branches off here to the north. The department D1001 road bypasses the town to the north. To the north extends the municipality up to the Autoroute A16. The boundary line to the northeast subsequent Saint- Vaast -en- Chaussée is very irregular. The district Tirancourt lies to the east of the community center.

History

On May 20, 1940, the city suffered a German bomb attack.

  • The built from 1982, below a Gallo-Roman oppidum ( Le Camp César ) located Archaeological Park Samara with reconstructions of prehistoric, early historic and Gallo- Roman buildings and an arboretum, in the east of the church.
  • The church of Saint -Martin with a square tower with spire.
  • The cemetery chapel.
