Lamotte-Warfusée

Lamotte- Warfusée ( Picard: L' Motte- Warfusée ) is a northern French town of 650 inhabitants (as of 1 January 2011) in the department of Somme in the Picardie region. The municipality is located in the arrondissement of Amiens, in the canton of Corbie and is part of the Communauté de communes du Val de Somme.

Geography

The community is located south of the Somme in Santerre, whose valley it approaches in the Vallée d' Abancourt to less than 200 meters, and it extends as far south on the Autoroute A29 addition. The distance to Corbie is about the department of road D122 around 9 km. The axis of the municipality is of the crossed here by the Department of Road D42 Démuin Albert Street Department D1029 ( former Route nationale 29 ) is formed. Lamotte forms the eastern district, the western Warfusée. The former district Abancourt is desolate since the 17th century.

History

The church today is in 1974 resulted from a merger of the municipalities Lamotte -en- Santerre and Warfusée - Abancourt.

The department of road D1029 is the old Roman road from Amiens to Vermand. In its near a fallen menhir was found. In the Middle Ages the rule Lamotte was under the Abbey of Corbie. 1204 Lamotte was collected for independent parish. In the 15th century under Lamotte basement ( Muches ) were dug. The castle and the leper in Lamotte were set in 1636 by Spanish troops on fire. 1656 the village was abandoned after Abancourt arson. The Church of Warfusée was rebuilt in 1721. During the First World War, the places were destroyed.

The communities received the Croix de guerre as a distinction from 1914 to 1918.

  • The Godefroy Teisseire built as a monument historique and 2005 classified 1929-1931 Church of Saint- Pierre in Lamotte ( Base Mérimée PA00132923 ) with features, including stained glass windows by Jacques Gruber in the style of the École de Nancy.
