Lauenbrück

Lauenbrück is a municipality in the district of Rotenburg (Wümme ) in Lower Saxony. It is also the administrative seat of the velvet municipality Fintel.

Geography

Geographical location

The municipality is located in the east of the district of Rotenburg ( Wümme). In Lauenbrück the Fintau opens into the Wümme. The landscape is dominated by large forested areas in the east and south, moorland ( Moor stone Becker ) and the two rivers. Because of the wet terrain relatively little land is used for agriculture.

Community structure

Through the center of the village the railway line Hamburg -Bremen runs. Between this and the north -flowing Wümme is the capital Lauenbrück. A new housing development which is located south of the railway line. The district parking is located north-east, near the border with the district of Harburg.

History

Lauenbrück was first mentioned in 1358 and was for the river crossing rivers Wümme and Fintau. The first part of the name goes back to the Welf dukes of Brunswick- Lüneburg. Lauenburg refers to the heraldic animal, the lion. The second part of the name, bridging, going to an existing in Lauenbrück in earlier centuries bridge (probably a wooden bridge with a length of 40 to 80 meters ) back, which is said to have crossed the two rivers Fintau and Wümme as part of an old military road. Evidence of the actual existence of this bridge was in the construction of the Sohlgleite, at the confluence of Fintau and Wümme found. There, they found about 600 year old oak piles.

Mayor

Since 2002, the SPD politician Jochen Intel husband is mayor of the municipality. His first deputy Klaus Miesner ( BfL ), second deputy is Heinz Promann (SPD).

Blazon: The coat of arms depicts a blue lion on a gold field, which exceeds a leading on a blue water surface corduroy road.

Structures

Martin Luther Church

1957 next to the cemetery on the edge of the forest, the Evangelical Lutheran Martin Luther Church was opened. Facilities include a Baroque altar from the church in Scheessel and a Chalice from the year 1703.

Fintauwehr

After 2002 and 2008, large parts of the village were inundated by floods in years, was erected in 2009/2010 a 700 m of flood protection embankment in front Lauenbrück which is to reduce water damage in the future. The cost was around 968,000 euros and were covered to 90% of the economic stimulus package

Sports

In the town there are two football pitches, three tennis courts, a shooting range, a sports hall at the elementary school and at the Fintauschule another sports hall as well as a track and field facility.

Regular events

Nationally known is the annual flea market since 1985, also over 10,000 visitors show up regularly. Also popular is the fireworks show, which is held on the outskirts of the village by a pyrotechnics company a few days before New Year's Eve.

In the village there is an animal and landscape park.

Economy and infrastructure

Business

In Lauenbrück is the office of the Bothmer pyrotechnics GmbH which is one of the leading firework companies for large fireworks in Germany. Another major business is the engineering company Atlas of the Wehl GmbH. Otherwise, the community is rural, so percentages of small craft and service companies.

Public institutions

In Lauenbrück is the town hall of the velvet municipality Fintel. The community has a volunteer fire department since 1923. 2012, a new, full-time staffed ambulance station of the Red Cross was established after a referendum had plans of the district to close the existing, partially occupied Guard for cost reasons prevented. The medical support beyond a general practitioner and a dentist's office.

Traffic

The municipality is located on the B 75 between Rotenburg ( Wümme ) and Hamburg. The town has a railway station on the railway line pan - Eickelmann -Hamburg, stick to the circulating within the Hanseatic network trains the metronom railway company on the connection of Hamburg -Bremen and the Special airfield Lauenbrück ( EDHU ) with a 600 m-long runway.
