Loeuilly

Lœuilly ( Picard: Leuilly ) is a northern French village with 842 inhabitants (as of 1 January 2011) in the department of Somme in the Picardie region. The municipality is located in the arrondissement of Amiens, is part of the Communauté de communes du canton de Conty, in the canton Conty.

Geography

The flood-prone municipality is located approximately 15 kilometers south of Amiens and 4 km north of Conty on here split into several branches Selle, extending west to the Bois de Wailly and is bounded on the east by about the A16 Autoroute. The municipality had a breakpoint at the degraded and used as trail La Coulee Verte railway line from Amiens to Beauvais.

History

The territory was inhabited in Gallo-Roman times.

In 1472 the castle was destroyed by the troops of Charles the Bold. 1593 the village was set by forces of the Holy League on fire.
