Protection is a municipality in the district of volcanic Eifel region of Rhineland -Palatinate. It belongs to the municipality and lies down on Burberg ( 528.5 m). Protection is a nationally recognized tourist.

History
In 1238, protection was first mentioned. To protect the Heckel mill were (correctly: Hinkel mill), the Regmühle and the slip mill. The latter is no longer maintained.
The St. Wendelin chapel dates in its present form from the year 1845.
