Oberbettingen

Oberbettingen is a municipality in the volcanic Eifel region of Rhineland -Palatinate. It belongs to the Hillesheim.

Geography

History

Oberbettingen was first documented in the year 845 in a charter of King Lothar. Around 1470 Oberbettingen is placed under the county Gerolstein.

Under French rule (1794-1814) Oberbettingen is assigned to the Mairie of Lissendorf. Even under Prussian rule in 1815 remains the management of the place in Lissendorf.
